As part of a due diligence review conducted for a food distribution company, $800,000 in uninsured property exposures was discovered.
At the request of a water authority, Baily Raabe & Associates located and then coordinated a program which provided an all-lines large deductible program to replace a first-dollar program.  This reduced costs and gave the authority more control over first-dollar claims.  It also allowed for selected waivers of governmental immunity.
 A tool and die manufacturer with 400+ employees and net sales of approximately $50M requested we conduct a policy review to determine if the insurance program could be improved.  The review identified various areas that were either under or uninsured.  We were then engaged to prepare specifications and market the entire account.  This resulted in significant coverage enhancements in addition to closing gaps in existing coverage.  The premium was reduced by 50% over the expiring program.
A sewer authority requested we prepare bid specifications and coordinate the marketing process.  The results, once again, were coverage enhancements, including a sublimit for damage to sewer lines and a 45% reduction in premium.
Several prominent non-profit foundations engage our services on a retainer basis.  Due to the unusual nature of their work, risk is not always apparent.  Having Baily Raabe & Associates as their risk manager allows them to pursue their goals while applying sound risk management principles.

Contractors, hospitals and public entities have engaged Baily Raabe & Associates services to conduct workers' compensation self-insurance feasibility studies.  Once the decision was made to pursue self-insurance, we helped the clients through each step of the process.  Tasks included:  completing the application process, obtaining competitive bids for excess workers' compensation, preparing RFPs for third party administrator services, reviewing and advising on third party administrator proposals, as well as coordinating any services which were required to be outsourced.
After using Baily Raabe & Associates to market their account, the prior year, a transportation client retained us to handle their renewal negotiations.  The carrier’s initial offer increased the premium over $50,000 (21%) based on poor loss history.  An in-depth review of the losses revealed poor claim closure practices by the carrier, which resulted in a significant amount of reserves charged against the client.  Baily Raabe & Associates attention focused on this aspect and closed over 50% of the open claims. The resulting decrease improved the loss ratio significantly, or thereby, eliminating the premium increase and allowed for the renewal to be issued at the expiring year’s rates.
